WATFORD’S BIG CENTENARY & JUBILEE CELEBRATION

4 Jun 2022

This year is an exciting year for Watford. 2022 marks 100 years since the town was awarded its borough status by Royal Charter.

Watford’s Charter was granted in recognition of the town’s increasing importance as a centre for industry, business and as a home for a growing community, who, like today, were the heart of the town’s success and popularity.

During 2022, we are marking this important milestone for our town with a range of events and activities - we would love everyone to get involved.

As part of Watford Borough Council’s Centenary & Jubilee celebrations (11am to 9pm), a fun-filled day of music and dance will take place starting off in the morning with a Parade through the High Street leading to the bandstand in Cassiobury Park where an afternoon of dance, theatre and spoken word performances will take place.

There will be food and drink stalls on site along with kids fair rides and stalls where you can win a prize every time.  Bring a picnic and enjoy a day of celebrations in the park. From 6pm our main stage in Cassiobury will host a variety of music and performances including a very special guest to end the festivities.

Please be advised that parking is limited and, if possible, we would encourage you to consider alternative transport, click here for more information.
