Abbey Fliers Exhibition

19 January 2026

Call for Art!

From St Albans to Watford, the Abbey Line is alive with feathered friends—and we want your art to celebrate them! Whether they’re perching, swooping, or strutting along the tracks, we’re looking for creative interpretations of the birds that make this route, and the surrounding area, their home.

Paint, draw, photograph, or mix it up—show us their personalities, their colours, and the joy they bring to the Abbey Line. All styles and skill levels welcome!

A selection of entrants will be displayed at the Abbey Station in St Albans and on platform 11 of Watford Junction, this Spring. All other eligible entrants will be displayed on the website of our partner, Collective Gallery, and may be promoted on our digital platforms. The deadline for submissions is 23rd February.

This project reflects some of the Abbey Line Community Rail Partnership’s key focuses: sustainability, connecting with nature and supporting urban wildlife.

With plenty of local countryside to explore, the Abbey Line Trail offers walks linking stations with beautiful green spaces and the wildlife it supports.

So, let your imagination take flight along the tracks, gardens and countryside that connect communities with nature.
